About two years ago Iranians sought 70,000 tons of Irri-9 but Pakistani exporters expressed their inability to meet the import demand.

During their current visit, the Iranian confronted two problems one relating to high prices and other of short supply of both the varieties. As a result of this the Iranian team failed to finalize any deal because the indicative price given by exporters was not acceptable to them and secondly exporters were not ready to ensure the entire quantities of both the varieties.
