Recovery of Agriculture Tax in Tandobago Tehsil
Pingrio, Sindh-Revenue officials have accelerated their
campaign to recover agriculture tax from growers of Tandobago
tehsil which is already badly affected by worst kind of
drought.
Pingrio Union Council convened a meeting the other day to take
stock of the situation and passed a unanimous resolution
seeking postponement of agriclture tax collection. Nazim UC
Pingrio Allahdad Khoso has lamented that there were no crops
due to acute water shortage in Tandobago and the growers are
in financial crisis but the government has not given them any
relief.
Not realising the ravaged condition of crops the revenue
officials have directed the farmers to make payment of
agriculture tax otherwise the defaulters will be arrested.
The farmers are very much distressed with threats of arrest in
case of non payment of farm tax and have appealed to the
government to realize their pathetic plight and exempt them
from payment of farm tax in view of drought conditions
prevailing in Tandobago tehsil.
