Improvement in agri technology realized

Sialkot-Pakistan is basically an agricultural economy but different governments have always neglected this sector. It needs to make use of advancement of knowledge and spectacular improvement in technology to gain maximum benefits from the agriculture sector.

This was stated by district Nazim Mian Naeem Javed, on Jan 25, here. He said rice and cotton were our principal crops and especially when there was bumper crop of cotton, but we had never utilized available resources to boost the agriculture sector to the highest degree.

The farming sector provides much of the raw material for exprots. The textile sector can easliy convert the silver of the cotton into gold and when cotton is in abundance, the textile industries would flourish. However, to achieve good results in the faming sector, the government needs to announce long term policies and avoid short term
policies, he added.

His suggest that the government lands should be leased out to educate people living in the rural areas and have practical experience in agricultural. If such lands are properly utilized, the billions of rupees could be generated on regular basis and it would
provide a substantial support in eradicating unemployment as well, he concluded.
