Pakissan.com recently
made its maiden tour to deep down areas of farming lands
of Faisalabad district to make the people of central
Punjab aware of the significance of cyber technology for
agricultural development.
Pakissan internet Van (i-Van)
visited Grain market in Ghulam Muhammad Abad, the
densely populated western district of Faisalabad city
and demonstrated the use of internet for the wheat
marketing. Majority
of dealers and other people present at the site
witnessed the productive use of computer first time as
they earlier had a feeling that internet technology was
instrumental in making cheap overseas calls and chatting
among the youth.
Dealers requested the
Pakissan.com for the posting of commodity prices from
different markets of the country on website. The portal
management told them that these prices were already
being updated on daily basis to facilitate the people in
agriculture business.
Visit to Government High
School, Ram Divali on Sargodha road was a strange
experience as most of the students and even teachers had
not seen the computer before. This was their first ever
encounter with the computer technology and its useful
applications especially in the field of agriculture.
" This is first time in my life that I have touched this
magic equipment," a student of ninth class remarked.
Taking the interest of the
students and teachers into account, the Kissan Board
Pakistan, the co-organizers of the visit promised to set
up a computer lab at the school premises.
The last stopover of
Pakissan i-van on its wayback to Lahore was Chack
Chhalaran, in Tehsil Chack Jhumra where the
demonstration was made before a gathering of local
farmers. The farmers made queries about the possible
advisory role of Pakissan.com web site in the solution
of problems especially related to disease attack and
judicious use of fertilizers and pesticides. |
