MULTAN – The agriculture department has sought applications from farmers to get subsidy on agricultural machinery by the Punjab government till February 12.
According to a handout issued here on Sunday, the agriculture department had started a programme to provide subsidy on agricultural items to farmers. The farmers of Multan, Khanewal, Lodhran, Vehari, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnager, Rahim Yar Khan, DG Khan, Layyah, Muzaffargarh and Rajanpur would be facilitated through the programme initially. The agriculture department will provide subsidy of Rs 3,000 on hand sprayer, Rs 15,000 on power sprayer and Rs 50,000 on a tractor-mounted sprayer to farmers.
The applicants should have his own tractor to get subsidy on tractor-mounted sprayer and farmers having one to more than 12.5 acre land could apply for the subsidy on agriculture machinery.
The interested farmers could get forms from offices of concerned deputy director agriculture (extension), assistant director agriculture (extension) and agriculture officer (extension).
The farmers could submit their attested applications with assistant director agriculture (extension) till February 12 while a draw would be conducted on February 28 and lucky farmers would be given subsidized agriculture machinery on March 30.
