'Greater role of private sector in wheat storage'
LAHORE-Punjab Minister for Agriculture Khurshid Zaman Qureshi
has said that the private sector would be highly encouraged
for increasing storage facilities of agri products.
He was talking to a German delegation of Advanced Milling
Machinery and System led by its Managing Director Mr. Lothar
Bley which called on him here on Thursday. Company Director in
Pakistan Asam Muhammad, Muhammad Khalid of BAU Union
Company and Secretary Food Shahid Ali Khan were also present
on the occasion.
The minister said that storage construction in private sector
is the federal government`s matter. However, Punjab government
would extend all out cooperation to facilitate private sector
in this regard, he assured.
"We can export surplus wheat through the use of storage
facility", he added. Managing Director, Mr. Lothar Bley
informed the minister that the company would benefit from
Pakistani expertise, it permission was granted for the
construction of storage and silos
to his company.
Furthermore, local skilled persons would be acquainted with
the modern technology, he added.
The minister held out assurance to the visiting German
delegation of all out cooperation in this regard.
