In January 2018/19, Ukraine supplied the largest volume of corn to the UK — 112.7 thou. tons, 29% of the total country’s imports, Zerno Online informs.
Since the start of the season, the UK imported 1.68 million tons of corn, 41.1% more than over the corresponding period last season.
The United Kingdom in January 2019 imported 101.9 thou. tons of wheat — the lowest monthly volume since the beginning of the season. The USA was the key supplier in January with 24.58 thou. tons. Romania delivered 18.50 thou. tons of wheat to the country.
In July-January of the 2018/19 season, the UK imported 1.27 million tons of wheat, 41.5% more than in the relevant period last season. Bulgaria shipped the largest volume of grain over 7 months — 226.63 thou. tons, while Canada delivered 222.72 thou. tons.
In the March forecast for global production, demand, consumption and export of crops in 2018/19, USDA experts improved the forecast for corn exports from Ukraine by 0.5 million tons to 29 million tons.
