About Agromet
Introduction
Agromet service is in operation since 1988 with a National
Agromet Centre, (NAMC)at Islamabad and four Regional Agromet
Centres (RAMCs) at Rawalpindi, Quetta, Faisalabad and
Tandojam.
The functions of NAMC include management of the
agrometeorological station network, data processing and its
publication, weather-based crop yield and production estimates
for central planning and food production stategies for
agrometeorological advisory, research, etc.
The RAMCs are responsible for local agrometeorological
observing programme, local and regional crop weather studies,
liaison with agricultural institutions in the region to
detemine local requirements and research priorities, colection
and initial processing of agromet information on regional
basis for on-ward transmission to NAMC, Islamabad.
The AgroMet information is brought in
collaboration with
Pakissan.com, a premier agriculture portal.
This effort will empower the farmer which will result in a
prosperous and greener Pakistan
