Steps in place to make Punjab cotton valley

MULTAN – Punjab Secretary Agriculture Muhammad Mehmood on Sunday said that South Punjab would be recognised as a cotton valley by 2020 in the world. He expressed these views in a statement issued here by the agriculture information department here.

Different steps were underway to make this region a hub of cotton . Funds worth billions of rupees were being spent on improving the agriculture sector, he said. “We are paying immense focus on mechanised farming and promoting modern technology in the region,” he added.

The efforts were underway to recognize South Punjab as branded hub of cotton , mangoes and dates, he said.
