Wheat sown over 8.8 lakh
acres in RY Khan
RAHIM YAR KHAN-Wheat has been sown over an area of 8 lakh 8
thousand acres in district Rahim Yar Khan, which is seven
percent more as compared to last year.
This was told in a meeting of district Agri Advisory committee
held here with DCO Atta Muhammad Khan in the chair here on Jan
25, 2002.
The meeting was told that Agriculture Development Bank
provided loans of rupees 123.4 million to the growers of the
district under one window scheme for rabbi crop. Haibib
Bank provided loans of rupees 72 million, NBP Rs 2.7 million,
MCB Rs 1.6 milllion for rabbi crop.
The DCO directed the representative of the Agri department to
write to the government for fixing low target for gram sowing
for the district as soil of the district is not good
for its sowing.
Representative of Hamza sugar mills told the meeting that no
dues of growers are outstanding against the mills. DCO
directed him to clear, if any dues of Khanpur Market Committee
are outstanding against the mills.
XEN canals told the meeting that desiltation campaign is in
full swing and would be completed within stipulated time.
