600 dairy farms being established in Punjab
Saturday, March-07-2009
MULTAN (March 07 2009): Punjab Government has planned to establish 600 modern dairy farms in the province with the help of foreign investment. The Chief Executive, Pakistan Dairy Development Company (PDDC), Geoff Walker, said on Friday that company is looking forward to achieve target of establishing 600 modern dairy farms in South Punjab this year.
Addressing a seminar organised by the PDDC, commonly known as Dairy Pakistan, Walker said that company has already set up 127 modern dairy farms, 125 biogas plants and 484 milk cooling tanks in South Punjab. The target of 600 modern dairy farms will be completed this year with the co-operation from cattle rearers.
Walker also said that the government was committed to bringing about white revolution in the country, most importantly in the less-developed areas including South Punjab. He said that cattle rearers in Multan and other districts of South Punjab were extracting maximum benefits by following the advice and guidance being offered by the PDDC experts.
