KARACHI (March 19 2004): While the officials in the ministries of food and agriculture at the federal and provincial levels keep claiming improvement in supply of wheat and 'atta' the actual improvement has not taken place and instead the crisis is growing and would become a disaster unless immediate, urgent measures are not taken to improve this situation and bring relief to the consumers.

Various newspapers in the country have also taken very strong editorial notice of the wheat situation. One of the down to earth analysis of the situation on the wheat front as also suggestions made for combating this 'Looming Wheat Crisis' is carried by the Daily Business Recorder on Thursday.
