UVAS and PU to collaborate in animal sciences
LAHORE (March 07
2004): The University of Veterinary and Animal
Sciences (UVAS) and Punjab University have agreed
to collaborate in the field of animal sciences.
UVAS's vice-chancellor Professor Dr Manzoor Ahmed
met Punjab University vice-chancellor Arshad
Mahmood here on Saturday and discussed ways and
means for this collaboration. Both agreed for
collaboration in joint research to be conducted by
the scientists of the two universities.
Later, a group of UVAS teachers, led by Dean
Faculty of Animal Production and Technology
Professor Dr Talat Naseer Pasha, held a meeting
with a team of the Punjab University scientists
headed by Dean Faculty of Sciences Professor Dr
Muhammad Waheed Akhtar and discussed details of
collaboration.
The meeting formed four sub-groups to conduct
joint research and other development activities in
the areas of livestock, fisheries, poultry and
molecular pathology.
The sub-groups will identify and finalise the
research programmes.
