No deal reported on cotton market
KARACHI (March 07
2004): Spinners saw cut in spot rate with a sense
of relief and sidelined hoping further slashing
was likely, relevant sources said on Saturday.
The official spot rate, under constant pressure
from outside, was reduced by Rs 25 to Rs 3050
without ST and upcountry expenses.
The trading on Saturday yielded no deal because
spinners preferred to wait before launching normal
buying.
The spinners are pretty disappointed at the
persisting low rate and EU imposed fine on bed
linen exports, sources said.
