Farmers to be apprised of new world trends
ISLAMABAD (March 20
2004): The government has decided to establish a
mechanism to monitor requirements and new trends
of the international market before sowing of major
crops.
The agriculturists would be apprised of these
informations so that they could avail of the
opportunity and draw the maximum benefit out of
it.
According to official sources on Friday, this step
would greatly benefit the farmers in getting the
latest information about requirements and new
trends of the international market.
It may also help the government in devising new
strategies to cope with the situation. The farmers
may be able to avail benefit out of these
informations by bringing about the required
changes in cropping pattern in accordance with the
demands of the open market.
It has also been decided that the agriculture
extension department would provide all necessary
information to the farmers and it would
co-ordinate with them in accordance with demands
and supply mechanism of the international market.
The farmers are facing problems to visualise the
fast changing trends and prepare a long-term
strategy to cope with the new situation emerging
in different fields of the agriculture.
