Dull trading on cotton market
KARACHI (March 27 2004): Trading in cotton was
cheerless as not a single bale was noted having
changed hands on Friday which is usually a 'thin'
day, relevant sources said.
Official spot rate was unchanged at Rs 2975
without ST and upcountry expenses.
Downward trend continued in cotton futures in New
York trading. May lost 1.06 cents to 64.20 and
July lost 0.94 cent to 65.70 cents a pound.
The KCA's DMR reported one deal on Thursday of
1000 bales of Rahimyar Khan at Rs 3000.
Sources refused to comment on the shape trading
was likely to take.
