| Quality lots attract buyers in modest cotton trading KARACHI (January 16 2004): Spinners remained on the look-out for quality lots in cotton market, which they relish to lift, relevant sources said. The trading trend however, depicts that spinners have restricted day's buying to more or less 8000 bales.
The official spot rate of grade III was slashed by Rs 25 to Rs 3200 per maund allowing spinners interest to continue buying support.
Some 8000 bales of cotton changed hands on Wednesday, such as: 1000 bales of Sanghar at Rs 2700/2950; 1000 bales of Sadiqabad at Rs 3100/3300; 1000 bales of Bhawalnagar at Rs 3050; 2000 bales of Khanpur at Rs 3250; 2000 bales of Dera Ghazi Khan at Rs 3150/3300; and 1000 bales of Haroonabad at Rs 3150/3250.
