Flour mills' wheat quota raised in NWFP

PESHAWAR (January 29 2004): The NWFP government has decided to increase the daily quota of wheat from 1150 to 1650 tonnes forthwith to fulfil the requirements of flour mills and enhance the working capabilities of flour mills industry in NWFP.

The decision to this effect was taken in a meeting of wheat disposal committee held here on Tuesday.

Presiding over the meeting, NWFP Minister for food, Excise and Taxation, Fazle Rabbani Advocate briefed about the present situation of wheat and strategic reserve of wheat in NWFP, and said, the situation of wheat in province was quite satisfactory.

He said keeping in view the sufficient availability of stock of wheat, quota of wheat to the flour mills has been increased from 1150 to 1650 tonnes per day.

He said that with this decision the flour mills would get relief to a great extent.
