| Avian Flu not reported in Faisalabad FAISALABAD (January 31 2004): District Livestock Officer Faisalabad, Dr Akbar Ali Chaudhry clarifying the news and comments appearing in a section of the press containing baseless apprehensions regarding the chicken-meat and eggs, has said that no case of any disease like "Avian Flu" has so far been reported in Faisalabad.
He said that in view of the cooking methods of our homes, there was absolutely no possibility of transfer of germs of any sort of disease in human beings by using chicken-meat and eggs.
DO livestock said that about a decade had passed that some cases of this disease were reported in Pakistan but as a result of in time protective measures by the government this disease was overcome successfully.
He, however, said that in case of any emergency, local veterinary hospitals/poultry centres could be contacted for proper guidance.
