Wheat procurement policy unveiled
KARACHI (April 23
2004): The provincial food department has
announced wheat procurement crop 2004 policy to
the deputy directors food of Karachi, Hyderabad,
Sukkur, Larkana and Mirpurkhas and the purchase of
wheat crop 2004 shall be governed as under.
The procurement of wheat will be made from growers
on first-come first serve basis at the 421 pacca
centres and government godowns (PRCs) as already
notified and other to be notified subsequently for
the convenience of the growers.
The wheat shall be procured at the support price
of Rs 350 per 40 kg.
Substandard quality/damaged wheat and the wheat
containing dust and dirt etc shall not be accepted
failing which the concerned centre in-charge will
be held responsible.
Regional heads/DFCs should publicise these
instructions along with centre-wise procurement
targets in local languages for the convenience and
information of growers.
These shall be displayed prominently along with
support price at each procurement centre.No grower
be provided bardana exceeding 200 bags at a time
on the basis of form-7 or copy of pass book or a
byana etc.
Each retrieved bags should be sprayed and
fumigated before utilisation.
