Subsidy on sugar export demanded
LAHORE (April 09 2004): The President of Kisan
Welfare Council, Mohammad Ayub, has welcomed the
decision to export 200,000 tons of sugar.
Addressing the general council at Kasur, he
however, said that the farmers were unable to
understand that why the government was not
providing subsidy on the export of sugar, when a
large number of developed countries, including USA
and European Union, besides India were giving
subsidy to their industry.
