Plgmea hails ban on livestock's export
KARACHI (April 23
2004): The chairman, Pakistan Leather Garments
Manufacturers and Exporters Association (Plgmea),
Fawad Ijaz Khan, appreciated the decision by the
government to ban export of all kinds of livestock
from Pakistan.
He said this outflow was causing shortage of meat
and good quality hides and skin, adding mostly
animals with good health are exported whose skins
are also better.
Fawad hoped that the government decision to ban
export of livestock will improve the availability
of good quality leather here besides, removing
shortfall of meat and reducing its prices in local
market.
