Fishermen assured of financial help
DADU, April 30:
District Nazim Malik Asad Sikandar has said that
the district government will provide financial
assistance to fishermen of Manchhar Lake and
rebuild houses destroyed by floods last year.
Talking to newsmen at his residence here on
Thursday, Mr Sikandar said that boats and fishing
nets would be provided to fishermen. The Nazim
said that a beautification plan would be initiated
to attract tourists to Manchhar Lake.
He urged the federal and provincial governments to
launch schemes approved by previous governments
for providing basic facilities to fishermen and
tourists at Manchhar Lake. The Nazim said that the
district government would pay compensation to
those residents of Kachho whose houses were
destroyed in the last monsoon reason.
He said that construction work at the mausoleum of
Hazrat Lakhi Shah Saddar would begin soon. On the
occasion, Mr Sikandar announced that amusement
parks would be constructed in every town of the
district. About restrictions on the movement of
wheat, he said that all SHOs in Dadu district had
been directed to implement Section 144.
The Nazim said that the provincial secretary food
had sent a team to Dadu which would conduct raids
at mini wheat markets, while the district
government would extend full cooperation to the
food officials.
The Nazim expressed the fear that if necessary
action had not been taken unscrupulous elements
would have shifted wheat to other districts and
the district would have been facing an acute
shortage of the commodity.
