Committee formed to regulate exports of
livestock
ISLAMABAD (April 14 2004): Minister for Food,
Agriculture and Livestock, Sardar Yar Mohammad
Rind on Tuesday constituted a committee, to be
headed by an Additional Secretary, to regulate the
exports of livestock from Pakistan.
The committee comprises Animal Husbandry
Commissioner, Joint Secretary (Ministry of
Commerce), Deputy Secretary (Livestock) and
representative of private sector.
The committee will examine, scrutinise the
applications and recommend the names of genuine
exporters in the light of decision taken by the
Economic Co-ordination Committee of the Cabinet (ECC).
According to the new procedure, the applicants are
required to file the applications along with
experience certificate regarding export of
livestock, livestock products, export registration
certificate, confirmed order for supply of live
animals, financial and bank statements, NTN
certificate and solemn affirmation that export
will be done by him.
The said system was being introduced to bring more
transparency in application scrutinising
mechanism.
