Agri marketing wings: officials asked to ensure
implementation of contract terms
HYDERABAD (April 07 2004): Provincial Agriculture
Secretary Sabhago Khan Jatoi has directed the
agriculture marketing wings assistant directors to
ensure implementation of terms and conditions of
the contract in letter and spirit.
Presiding over a meeting of officers of marketing
wing here on Tuesday, he said that the terms and
conditions of the contract have no provision for
overcharging, double charging and collection of
fee outside the notified area, adding that legal
action would be initiated against those found
guilty of violating any provision of the contract.
He said the market committee contracts were
awarded through open auction to generate income
for the development of market committee
infrastructure on modern lines and to brought an
end to pilferage and financial mismanagement.
Earlier talking to delegations of traders from
Thatta, Badin and Hyderabad districts and market
committee contractors, he said, violation of any
provision of the contract would not be tolerated
and advised the traders to pay the market
committee fee according to schedule announced by
the government.
He said district Nazims and DPO would be informed
not to allow setting up of illegal check-post in
their respective districts to ensure that the
market fee was being charged according to schedule
under the existing laws.
Later, Agriculture Extension and Research director
general issued letters to district Nazims and DPO
across the province with a copy of contract
agreement for recovery of market fee for their
reference to avoid any ambiguity.
