Australian High Commissioner discusses wheat issue
with minister
ISLAMABAD (February 27
2004): The High Commissioner of Australia Howard
Brown called on Minister for Food and Agriculture
Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind and discussed with him
issues arising from imported wheat from Australia.
The Minister apprised the High Commissioner that
Passco-company and Tradesman International
finalised deal to import 150,000 million tonnes
wheat.
The samples of imported wheat were drawn in the
presence of the representatives of suppliers as
well the buyers.
The samples showed that first two consignments of
wheat did not meet the required specifications.
Sardar Rind said the next shipment arriving on
February 26 may be tested by a team comprising
representatives of Australian Wheat Board, High
Commission, Passco and Tradesman International and
the results thereof will from the basis of further
discussions.
