Corporate farming to ensure enhanced yields
ISLAMABAD (July 02 2002) : Federal Minister for Food,
Agriculture and Livestock Khair Muhammad Junejo on Monday said
Corporate Agricultural Farming (CAF) will enhance efficiency
of agriculture production by bringing together production
processing and marketing activities at one place under
corporate entity.
While talking to APP here on Monday, he said it may prove
successful through use of the latest production technology
with adequate and balanced inputs such as proper fertiliser,
quality seeds, modern farm machinery, high efficiency
irrigation system, including drip irrigation, pest management
and marketing expertise.
Junejo said the government has decided to introduce corporate
farming in the country to revolutionise the economy.

Junejo said that through corporate farming ample opportunities
of employment would be made available.
The government has also taken various steps for the success of
CAF, which included declaring corporate farming as an
industry, provision of legal cover to land holding by the
investors, concession of import duties, selling or leasing out
of state land, loan lending and zero duty on transfer of land
