Pakistan shines at fruit logistica 2010   
 

(Berlin, 3rd February 2010) It was never easy , without the help of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), for Fresh Produce Exporters to exhibit their products at Fruit Logistica 2010 , 3-5 February Berlin Germany( world´s leading exhibition for the promotion and marketing of Fruits and Vegetable) to exhibit their products in such a great way: Pakistan,s ever strongest participation in Fruit Logistica.

Pakistan has a national pavilion in Hall 7.2c which is the most important hall in terms of visitors flow, TDAP has accommodated leading exporters this year with 12 Sqm Stand for each company .A delegation of about 50 growers and exporter from all part of Pakistan has also visited the show to see new technologies available for pre/post harvest . This is for sure a first steps to let our growers and exporters avail opportunities open at Fruit Logistica where some more than 55,000 trade visitors are visiting the show from 120 countries.

Exporters from Pakistan have got some hundred of new contacts from all over the world which will ultimately help them increase their exports and this will be one of the tool to generate foreign exchange for Pakistan.
 


Pakistan Horticulture Development and Export Company has also accommodated 5 leading kinno growers in their stand at Hall 7,2c.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to Germany Mr.Shahid A. Kamal inaugurated the Pakistan Pavilion and visited the stalls at the exhibition and met with Pakistani traders as well as officials of the exhibition management. The Ambassador said that the world’s leading exhibition provides great opportunity for promotion, development and marketing of fruits and vegetable products. He said that there was a need for more intensive interaction between farmers and exporters to upgrade quality of fruit and vegetable products, he also lauded the efforts made by Nasa International (Messe Berlin,s representative for Pakistan) in coordinating the entire activities from Pakistan.

The Ambassador also formally launched The Pakistan Food Journal at the Fruit Logistica 2010 , the first B2B trade magazine of Pakistan which represents the entire spectrum of the food industry including all kind of Food products , Services and Technologies.

A total of 2,302 exhibitors from 71 countries (2009: 2,283 from 78 countries) are present at FRUIT LOGISTICA 2010 from 3 to 5 February giving an unparalleled overview of global fruit and vegetable production and trade. Exhibitors at the leading trade fair for the international fresh produce trade will include all of the key global players as well as small and medium-sized companies involved in the produce value chain.

Mexico is the official FRUIT LOGISTICA 2010 partner country. The northernmost Latin American nation, which is celebrating its bicentennial year as an independent country in 2010, is planning it's biggest-ever appearance at the world's leading trade fair for fresh produce. Mexico is represented by a large number of growers, organisations and trade associations in Hall 25 at the Berlin Exhibition Grounds.

FRUIT LOGISTICA 2010 offers an outstanding conference programme with comprehensive background information and valuable insights for international fresh produce trade professionals.
