GOVT. TO GIVE FERTILIZER ON CONCESSIONAL RATES

Peshawar-In order to suffice NWFP in Food Sector, the government of NWFP has decided to provide fertilizer to the farming community on concessional rates necessary directives has already been issued to the concerned authorities to immediately provide one lac, 63 thousand, two hundred bags to the Farm Services Centres.

This was stated by NWFP Minister for Food and Agriculture while chairing a high level meeting this morning. Giving details about the available fertilizer, the Minister said
that at present about one lac, thirty thousand bags of Urea, thirty two thousand bags of DAP and twelve hundred bags of Ammonium Phosphate was lying unutilized in the ADAs. Godowns. He added that he had directed the concerned authorities to shift the above mentioned available fertilizer to Farm Services Centres throughout the Province and ensure its availability to the Farmers on concessional rates.
 
It is estimated that the concession would ensure Rs. 75 to Rs. 100 per bag saving to the farmers. The Provincial Minister further said that varities of high quality certified wheat seed has already been provided to the farm services centres and per acre production of wheat would further enhance with the availability of fertilizer on
cheap rates. 

The Provincial Minister has asked the farming community to take advantage of this facility and approach their nearest farms services centres to get quality seed and fertilizer and play their due role in the progress and prosperity of the nation. Secretary Food and Agriculture Brig: Azeem Khan, Director and other concerned officers
also attended the meeting.
