Farmers to be briefed on new trends of global market
ISLAMABAD : The government has decided to devise a mechanism
to monitor requirements and new trends of the international
market before sowing of major crops. The agriculturists would
be apprised about these information so that they could avail
the opportunity and draw maximum benefit out of it.
According to official sources, this decision was taken in a
recently held high-level meeting of the agriculture export
committee which considered that latest information about
requirements and new trends of the international market which
may greatly help the government and the growers in devising
new strategies to cope with the situation.
The farmers may be able to benefit from these information by
bringing about required changes in the cropping pattern in
accordance with the demand mechanism of the open market.
The export committee meeting also reviewed the possibilities
of enhancing exportable agriculture production.
it decided that the representatives of the Export Promotion
Bureau (EPB) would be involved in future deliberations of the
committee to increase exports and get feed-back.
It was also decided that the agriculture extension department
would provide all necessary information to the farmers, and it
would co-ordinate with them in accordance with demands and
supply mechanism of the international market.-
