115 prizes announced in Kissan Inaami Scheme


LAHORE-First Draw of Kissan Inaami Scheme was held at a local hotel July 24 in which names of 115 lucky winners were announced including two tractors.The tractors were won by Coupon number 40742 and 289781. Other prizes announced were 6 motorcycles, 22 colour T.V. and 85 Radio Cassette. Punjab Home Secretary Brigadier Syed Ijaz Shah speaking as chief guest on the occasion said that Pakistani farmers have shown excellent performance by increasing production of wheat, cotton, fruits and vegetables.

Farmers deserve credit for it, he said adding, National Fertilizer Marketing (NFC) have taken a right step by introducing such a scheme for the farmers benefit. Other organizations producing agriculture inputs should also follow this example, he suggested.

Chairman NFC Major General (r) Muhammad Mohsin in his address said that NFC has contributed Rs 3.6 billion for the national exchequer in shape of direct and indirect taxes. The corporation earns an annual profit of about Rs 2 billion which will ultimately be utilized by the government, he said adding production of good quality fertilizers according to the requirements of agriculture fields of the country is also one of the big achievements of the company.

General Manager Marketing of NFC Shamas Zaheer Abbass said that 52,000 coupons were included in the draw and an amount of Rs 3.6 million has been allocated for the Inaami Scheme consists of two phases. Second phase of which will be held in September in which 146 lucky winners will get their prizes
.
To a query, he said that the Inaami scheme is not merely an advertising technique but its purpose is to share with the growers some percentage of profit which NFC earns each year..
