Agri tax recovery from current year
LAHORE-Federal Finance Minister Shaukat Aziz has said the
Agriculture Income Tax will be recovered from the current
fiscal year after the process of filing of returns is
completed.
Talking to The News after the "Vision 2025" seminar arranged
by Wapda here, he said during the last financial year, the
concerned staff had been trained for implementation and
collection of the said tax.
He stated a delegation of Saudi investors had arrived in the
country to explore various investment opportunities. The team
has arrived here to discuss the investment issues only and not
for any other purpose, he said. He said the government was
discussing various projects with the delegation and the nation
would soon hear a good news in this regard.
Shaukat said the government was negotiating with the
International Monetary Fund for getting concessional credit,
while the rest of affairs between the IMF and the Government
of Pakistan were going smoothly.
About the import of sugar, Shaukat said the government was
making a transparent policy in this regard. "The policy will
be made to benefit the general consumers," Shaukat said,
requesting the newsmen to ignore the negative propaganda being
made by some vested interests.
