An amount of Rs. 80 million to be spent on Satpara Dam Project

GILGIT-The Federal Government has approved an amount of Rs. 80 million for construction of Satpara Dam project.

Sources said that this project was completely neglected in the past but present government has approved and allocated Rs. 80 million. This was disclosed by District administration Skardu here
on August 13. He said Sadpara Dam is a multi-dimensional project which will not only over come shortage of irrigation water in Skardu but also increase the generation capacity of hydro power in the area.

Meanwhile, for easy excess to Sadpara, a hilly resort, the NAs Government has decided to implement road widening project from Sadpara hotel to Maqpoon Bridge. This was decided in a recent meeting held, DC Skardu Muhammad Akbar Mir in the chair. It was stated that all possible efforts would be initiated for the beautification of Skardu Town.

The administration directed NAPWD Skardu for immediate removal of debris and installation of under ground pipe fitting as soon as possible so that the present traffic problems would be
solved.
